color theory: we heart topaz

happy november! to celebrate of the beginning of this lovely fall month, we are honoring its birthstone, topaz. the yellow stone is autumnal warmth at its finest; a rich gold reminiscent of warm cognac, flickering candlelight, and crisp fall leaves. yellows and golds can seem courageous colors to sport; but whether in small doses, like a great accessory to play up simple jeans, or a full-on gold hued dress, the color is surprisingly easy to wear. with so many shades in that lovely topaz family, every girl is sure to find the right hue. it’s soft, warm, and feminine- it can even be worn as a surprisingly sexy neutral.

gold_topaz_scarf_essie_egjewelrynklc_sparkle_leather(clockwise from top left) alphonse mucha was the king of art nouveau. his soft femininity exemplifies the warmth of the style.

we are fairly obsessed with this stunning maxi dress by Virgo Lounge that we found on ASOS. it’s gorgeous!

echo’s gorgeous cities scarf is chicness at it’s finest, with a stunning print of the eiffel tower on a rich topaz backdrop.

Aldo’s Kurkova sunglasses are the perfect classic shades, complete with a bit of shine at the temples for the diva in all of us.

EG Jewelry’s delectable 14k gold and citrine bib makes us wish our birthday was in November…

bring a little bit of topaz pop into your look with the perfect shade (as usual) by Essie- this one is shifting power.

Reem Acra always wows us with lush feminine beauty, and her spring/summer 2014 line was no exception, with fluid frocks in gold and topaz hues that positively swayed down the runway.

we are always suckers for a cute pair of heel that looks like they belonged to Ginger Rogers. Kate Spade’s Nuovo does just that!

Hobo makes the best luscious leather bags in candy colored deliciousness… we are swooning over the Tessa in their new Harvest color.
